BA (Hons) Costume for Theatre, Film and Television

Exploring the development of historical menswear and tailoring techniques Katie has cut and made an elaborate, heavily hand worked Elizabethan ensemble. Her Musketeer inspired costume explores advanced breakdown techniques in the form of burn, blood and musket damage. Work placements include the Witcher & His Dark Materials workrooms, Dye and Breakdown on Avenue 5 & Whirlwind. Katie is seeking opportunities in a workroom or breakdown department.

The Snow Queen

Designed by Bronia Housman, an Edwardian silhouette dress, ombré dyed and airbrushed with hand painted icicles and snowflakes.

It was always stressed that the contacts you make during your training are incredibly important, and your classmates are likely to end up being on set alongside you in the future. After working with a director of photography on one of the School’s short films, I was invited to work on a project with him outside of Bristol - proving that the professionals we meet via the School, may one day give us a call to action!
