Heart-stopping moment for students – when recent grad Rhea appears at school

We were delighted to recently welcome Rhea Norwood, star of Netflix major hit teen romance series – Heartstopper – who came to visit and meet with students from all three year groups of the BA Professional Acting course.

Rhea only graduated 3 years ago and started her professional acting career while still finishing her own training at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, so it really was an engaging treat for current students to hear from and learn about early career experiences.

Rhea was delightfully open and honest about her time at the school and the road she has taken since stepping out in to the wide world of commercial TV and West End Theatre. Sharing excitedly about her time in Cabaret on the West End, in her ‘dream role’ as Sally Bowles and giving useful insight in to how her process for snagging the major Netflix series was a success.

Students filled the Weston studio, with more than 50 of them asking a wide range of questions for more than an hour.

We are so lucky to have such brilliantly talented and supportive alumni, who come back to visit and give their time so willingly because of their love of the school and passion to support the next generation of professionals in the sector.

Thank you Rhea and we hope to see you again soon. All the best with your future projects too!

The School is in a beautiful part of Bristol, overlooking a huge park called the Downs. We sometimes take advantage of our close proximity to the Downs during the summer term, practising fight and dance routines, or voice or singing classes! Dan Hall, BA Professional Acting student
