MFA Professional Acting alum is named finalist in British Council UK’s Alumni Awards

Bristol Old Vic Theatre School is proud to announce that MFA Professional Acting graduate (’18) Gail Shalan has been named one of three finalists in the Culture and Creativity category of the British Council’s 2025 Study UK Alumni Awards.

This prestigious recognition celebrates the outstanding achievements of international UK university alumni making significant impacts in their fields worldwide.

Since graduating from BOVTS, Gail (pictured left) has built an impressive career spanning theatre, film and voice work. Most notably, she has become well-known in the audiobook industry, narrating over 200 titles and winning two Audie Awards in 2024. Her work has garnered attention from major media outlets, including The New York Times and Vulture Magazine.

The national winners will be announced at the British Consulate in Los Angeles this February, with global winners to be celebrated in London later this year. Congratulations, Gail!
