Maisie Higgins

BA Costume Student

Biography

During her time at BOVTS, Maisie has produced a range of costume makes for productions such as Macbeth (Bristol Old Vic), Romeo and Juliet (Redgrave Theatre) and Pride and Prejudice (The Mount Without). She was Costume Supervisor for The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (The Station).

In her final year, Maisie has specialised in the cultural differences in men’s tailoring – learning different tailoring skills used throughout the world.  Maisie has a keen interest in theatre and film, having worked consistently at the Bristol Hippodrome alongside her studies, dressing on shows, including Les Miserables, The Lion King and more.

One of my favourite parts about BOVTS is that it feels ‘homegrown’. From the set to the costume, lighting, acting and sound, every single aspect of a theatre production or film is down to the students. The location of Clifton is so serene and the School being so small everyone knows each other and it feels so personal and special. Violet Morris, BA Professional Acting Student
