Truly Siskind-Weiss

MA Drama Writing Student

Biography

Truly is a playwright, actor, and solo performer from New York City. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Connecticut College in May 2019 with a BA in Theatre and American Studies, and is now pursuing her Master’s in Drama Writing at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

Truly has worked with Manhattan Theatre Club, The Cherry Lane Theatre and The Colonial Theatre of Rhode Island. Her plays have been produced at Cherry Picking – an annual new play festival – where she also works as Director of Digital Communications. Most recently, Truly wrote lyrics for Our Mutual Voices, a contemporary opera project produced by the Manhattan School of Music.

One of my favourite parts about BOVTS is that it feels ‘homegrown’. From the set to the costume, lighting, acting and sound, every single aspect of a theatre production or film is down to the students. The location of Clifton is so serene and the School being so small everyone knows each other and it feels so personal and special. Violet Morris, BA Professional Acting Student
