You’ll learn about health and safety in production environments and gain an overview of different filmmaking departments. Collaborating with BA Professional Acting students, you’ll understand set dynamics for both cast and crew. Project work includes producing short-form projects like commercials, podcasts/vodcasts and animations.

Year 2: Advanced Techniques and Assistant Roles
In the second year, you’ll refine your skills with training in advanced production techniques and masterclasses led by industry professionals. Focus areas include cinematography, audio production and roles within pre- and post-production. You’ll step into assistant roles in larger film and scene projects. Additional opportunities allow exploration of expressionist filmmaking, narrative audio, and the intersection of gaming and filmmaking including virtual production and interactive media.

Year 3: Professional Practice and Leadership
The final year emphasises professional practice as you take on leadership roles in the School’s film and scene projects. You’ll oversee independent productions in collaboration with peers, culminating in a fully realised film piece.
