Overview
Embark on an exciting journey into the art of film editing with our masterclass, brought to you by our Head of Film Production, Charlie Parkin. Designed specifically for beginners, this course is your gateway to mastering the fundamentals of film and video editing.
Unlock the secrets of editing theory from scratch, progressing to crafting a fully edited dialogue scene by the end of the course. Led by industry expert Charlie Parkin, a seasoned video editor and award-winning visual effects compositor, you’ll gain hands-on experience using DaVinci Resolve – the industry-standard editing and colour tool.
Throughout the course, you’ll delve into the essential principles of editing, equipping yourself with the knowledge to make impactful decisions even before the cameras start rolling. Whether you aspire to be a filmmaker or an editor, this course lays the foundation for a successful journey in the world of visual storytelling.

This is a full day Masterclass which runs from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The course will be taught at our film studios Christchurch Recording Studios.

What Do I need To Bring
Prepare for an immersive learning experience by bringing:
Laptop with DaVinci Resolve installed (free or paid version).
Internal or external SSD/Fast HDD with at least 500GB space.
Pen and Paper for note-taking.
