At Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, we pride ourselves on nurturing the next generation of creative talent. However, the journey doesn’t end at graduation. One of our greatest joys is watching our alumni thrive in the industry, and occasionally, that journey comes beautifully full circle.
Last week, we were absolutely delighted to celebrate a deep, long-standing relationship with our community by officially announcing the naming of the Stage Right Studio. The team at Stage Right won the auction prize of a studio being named after them at this year’s Gala Dinner.
This naming dedication is not only a corporate sponsorship, it is a celebration of a shared community. Stage Right Theatre Consultants have been an unwavering supporter of the School for years. Most inspiringly, their workforce is powered by our very own graduates. In fact, nearly 45% of the Stage Right team are BOVTS alumni.
Among them is Stage Right Director and BOVTS Trustee, Flip Tanner, whose career bridges our training rooms with ground-breaking theatre projects across the UK including The RSC.
Our Charity CEO Tom Beasley shared what this dedication means to our community:
“Stage Right have consistently supported the School over the years, providing hands-on advice, guidance and sponsorship. Several alumni from the School, including director and BOVTS trustee Flip Tanner, have gone on to amazing careers at Stage Right, working on ground-breaking theatre projects in the UK and internationally. Naming the Stage Right Studio is an opportunity to celebrate the success of our former students and to recognise the support provided to us by members of the School’s community”.
For the team at Stage Right, putting their name above the studio door is a meaningful way to honour the place where so many of their careers began. As the Stage Right team notes:
“We’re delighted to support the school and proud to have our name above the door. Nearly 45% of the Stage Right team are alumni, making this far more than a symbolic gesture – it reflects a deep and lasting connection to the place that helped shape so many of us. It is a small but meaningful way to give back to an institution that played such a significant role in the journeys behind Stage Right Theatre Consultants.”
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Stage Right Theatre Consultants for their continuing generosity, guidance, and sponsorship. We look forward to many more years of collaboration, shaping the future of the arts together.
