Jilly Huggins

Biography

Jilly has worked for over a decade in the Further and Higher Education sectors, in risk, compliance, assurance, and financial leadership roles.

She served for three years as a trustee of the University of Bristol, and was previously on the executive board for the Council of Higher Education Internal Auditors. Jilly is a founding director of CATSA CIC, a non-profit delivering community-based sustainable energy projects.

After teaching in the adult learning sector in her early career, Jilly relocated to Bristol to study. As a mature student she earned a BSc Social Policy from the University of Bristol and MBA Technology Management from the Open University, becoming a keen advocate for access to education and lifelong learning. She qualified as an internal auditor at Tribal Education and subsequently established and led the company’s corporate governance, risk, and audit function through its AIM market listing. Now in a leadership role at the University of Bristol, she is focused on improving the agility of professional services and student support.

A former aerial circus artist, Jilly retains a passion for Bristol’s vibrant creative scene. She also enjoys walking and wild swimming in the countryside around Thornbury, where she lives.
