Biography

Laura Phillimore is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer based in Bristol. She completed her post graduate training in Theatre and costume design at Bristol Old Vic and more recently an M.A in Design at UWE exploring Design for play and interactive design. She holds a PGCE in Secondary arts education from Goldsmith University. Her visual work in theatre, cabaret and circus includes new writing at the Brighton festival and Boing festival in Kent. Bourgeois and Maurice at Sadlers wells, Ben Hur at Hoxton Hall and Cirque Bijou in Bristol. She has worked as a set stylist in fashion for production designers Shona Heath and Gary Card and in art departments for tv including Sky arts, Disney and CBBC. As an arts education specialist Laura has worked with organisations including: The National Trust, V and A, Orleans House Gallery, Gerald Moore Gallery and Design Museum, London. In 2018 she founded Dream and Make, a research project exploring immersive arts for children and families based at Spike Island gallery, Bristol.
