BA Costume Student


Biography

Katie is currently completing the 2 year costume FdA and intends to stay for 3rd year to achieve a BA hons.

Katie previously studied A level Film, Art and Product Design, with an EPQ in post-apocalyptic costume design and costume breakdown. During her time at BOVTS, Katie has embraced a wide range of costume roles and skills such as costume construction and supervision within theatre and film. Katie is passionate and proficient in costume breakdown, ombre dying and airbrushing combined with textile surface decoration. She is keen to further develop skills in latex and blood effects. The second year tailoring project as part of the specialist skills module has inspired Katie’s interest in period menswear. Katie is keen to explore opportunities to further her knowledge and practices.

Alongside her studies Katie has undertaken workroom placements at Bristol Costume Services, Watford Palace Theatre, and as a Costume breakdown trainee for HBO’s Avenue 5.
