Biography

Matthew is specialising in stage management during his final yeat at BOVTS, with a strong interest in musicals.  Matthew has completed work experience on several touring musicals including Joseph, Heathers, Beauty & The Beast, Sister Act and The Cher Show.  He is completing his work placement on the UK tour of 42nd Street.

Professional credits include Technical Assistant Stage Manager on Sleeping Beauty at The Theatre Royal Plymouth.  Assistant Stage Manager (cover) on Wonder Boy at The Bristol Old Vic.  Assistant Stage Manager (cover) on Dick Whittington at The New Wimbledon Theatre.  Technical Assistant Stage Manager on Snow White at Swansea Grand Theatre.

Credits at BOVTS include Deputy Stage Manager on Henry V in the Weston Studio.  Stage Manager on This House at The Tobacco Factory Theatres.  Deputy Stage Manager on Robin Hood & Marian at The Redgrave Theatre.  Stage Manager on Great Expectations, West Country Tour.

It was always stressed that the contacts you make during your training are incredibly important, and your classmates are likely to end up being on set alongside you in the future. After working with a director of photography on one of the School’s short films, I was invited to work on a project with him outside of Bristol - proving that the professionals we meet via the School, may one day give us a call to action!
