Biography

Vysh is a performance designer currently based in Bristol. An Indian architect, she strongly believes in the power of story telling through design and art. Her methods of working are original and concept driven. Vysh designs by playing between colours, textures and lighting, always remaining mindful of sustainability and audience experiences. Vysh likes to design for both theatre and film. Her concepts are inspired from art and real life.

At BOVTS Vyshnavi designed the set for A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream directed by Paul Chesterton for the spring term and designed the set and costume for The Ugly One directed by Natalie Simone for the summer term.

Other BOVTS credits include The Writer, a speculative project in term 1 and The Lost Weekend (Film Noir) for her specialisation project.

It was always stressed that the contacts you make during your training are incredibly important, and your classmates are likely to end up being on set alongside you in the future. After working with a director of photography on one of the School’s short films, I was invited to work on a project with him outside of Bristol - proving that the professionals we meet via the School, may one day give us a call to action!
