Bristol Old Vic Theatre School is delighted to announce that Milo Cluett (MA Screen Acting ’25) has been announced as one of the twenty finalists of the Spotlight Prize 2025

The Spotlight Prize, established in the 1950s, offers drama school graduates a valuable opportunity to launch their careers by performing before a panel of industry experts. Each year, over 70 drama schools and universities are invited to nominate a student from their graduating class, and a panel of industry experts selects the finalists based on the quality of their self-tape audition.

Milo will perform alongside the other finalists in a showcase later this summer, where two winners will be announced. Alyssa Thabisile Sibanda (BA Acting ’24) took home the Spotlight Prize for Best Actor (Stage) at last year’s showcase. Milo and Alyssa join the Spotlight Prize’s illustrious group of past nominees and winners, including renowned actors Gwendoline Christie, Jodie Whittaker, Ben Whishaw and BOVTS alum Faye Marsay (FdA Acting ’12).

Milo commented: “I am deeply honoured to be selected as a finalist for the Spotlight Prize 2025. It is such a privilege to be able to represent Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and all the amazing graduates this year!”

Iman Bahmanabadi (Head of Screen Acting) commented: “I am absolutely delighted for Milo to be representing our school in the Spotlight Prize. It means a great deal for his dedication to the craft to be recognised.”

This announcement comes a few days days after Milo celebrated with his cohort at an industry screening in London. An Online Showcase is also available to view here. The 2025 MA Screen Acting graduates are now available for representation and casting opportunities – if you would like any additional information or to arrange a meeting with any of our graduates, please don’t hesitate to contact the School.

Congratulations, Milo! We’re so proud of you.

One of my favourite parts about BOVTS is that it feels ‘homegrown’. From the set to the costume, lighting, acting and sound, every single aspect of a theatre production or film is down to the students. The location of Clifton is so serene and the School being so small everyone knows each other and it feels so personal and special. Violet Morris, BA Professional Acting Student
