Overview
Join an extraordinary day of singing and performing Musical Theatre songs. If you love performing or just want to try something new, this is a great opportunity to celebrate your passion and connect with like-minded performers, whilst also learning from an experienced choir leader and specialist in vocal technique.Â
Throughout the day, you’ll collaborate to learn musical theatre numbers, explore blocking and acting, and engage in vocal exercises and techniques. The experience culminates in a short performance for friends and family, showcasing your progress.
Course Highlights
>Learn and perform two ambitious and energetic ensemble songs.
>Develop techniques for group harmony singing.
>Gain experience in blocking and acting to enhance stage performances.
>Understand the basics of vocal health for sustained singing.

Morning Session:
- Welcome and Course Overview
- Song Learning and Group Rehearsals
Afternoon Session:
- Blocking and Acting Techniques
- Final Rehearsal with Performance Elements
Performance:
- 16:30–17:00: Showcase Performance (2 guests per participant allowed)

Applicants must be aged 18 or over by the time of the course start date.

What do I need to bring and what do I need to wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for singing and light movement. Bring water and any personal items needed for vocal care.

Short Course Cancellation Policy
We will make all reasonable efforts to deliver a short course as outlined on our site and in any brochure or published material. However, we reserve the right to cancel a short course in case of events outside our control or if the course fails to meet a minimum number of participants. In the event that we cancel a course, we will inform participants who have booked a place via email at least 7 days prior to the start date. We will also provide a full refund of the course fee paid. Bristol Old Vic Theatre School cannot be held responsible for any expenses you incur due to such a cancellation.
