Bristol Old Vic Theatre School presents an immersive journey through the underground tunnels of the Loco Klub, Bristol’s home for alternative arts.
Enter the world of a passionate theatre troupe as insidious political shadows close in on society. Based on Klaus Mann’s controversial 1936 novel, Mephisto is a haunting exploration of ambition, compromise and the seductive power of fame. As one actor faces an ultimate choice, we witness how quickly principles can be abandoned when opportunity – or the devil – comes knocking.
This promenade performance invites audiences to celebrate the soul of theatre-making, whilst questioning its resilience in the face of tyranny. Join us for a powerful production which strikes a disturbing chord with today’s political landscape.
Suitable for ages 14+
