Biography
Charlotte is a Welsh writer from Newport. Her work so far explores Welsh history, language, identity, magical realism and coming of age. Charlotte graduated from the University of South Wales in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Drama and was shortlisted for The Alpine Fellowship Theatre Prize 2024.
Charlotte is particularly interested in writing for television and film after the course, with a few ideas in development, including a crime drama television series. While on the MA in Drama Writing, Charlotte has shown an interest in creating theatre for children and families, with a play based on the Cottingley Fairies currently in development.
The training provided by the MFA programme is superb. The depth with which we explore, paired with unyielding curiosity that is met with the most knowledgeable, passionate, expert tutors is what makes BOVTS programme one of the finest around. I feel honoured to call BOVTS my grad school.
