Cleo Nester

Drama Directing

Biography

Cleo is a theatre-maker, director and actor based in Bristol/Dorset. Drawn to the weird and the wonderful, she enjoys making theatre that balances heart, humour and horror. Cleo holds the firm belief that theatre is a public service – creating a space in which we can enter the murky waters of the human experience and discover the treasures and terrors that lie beneath the surface. Equally important to her is the ability to play and connect, and at the core of her practice is a human-centred, warm and curious approach to collaborative theatre-making.

After completing a BA in Acting at the Arts University Bournemouth, Cleo worked extensively with young people across the South West, including directing children’s theatre projects at venues including Bristol Beacon, Taunton Brewhouse, and the Regal Theatre Minehead. Directing credits include King Troll (The Fawn) at Bristol Old Vic and assisting Iqbal Khan on Kae Tempest’s Paradise at The Station.
