Grace is a Scottish writer and director whose work uses humour to spotlight contemporary issues. While she was studying at the University of Glasgow, her plays Lads of the Flies and Summer Fling were selected by a panel of industry professionals for performance at the Edinburgh Fringe. Lads of the Flies – a comedy which used cross-gender casting to satirise modern masculinity – was nominated for two Scottish Theatre awards: the Leading Light prize, and the Bright Sparks award.
In 2025, she was commissioned by Undercoat Theatre to write a stage adaptation of The M Word, a novel by Costa Book Award winner Brian Conaghan. The play was a comedy-drama exploring grief, coming-of-age, and the influence of misogyny on teenage girls’ friendships.
Since starting the MA, Grace has written an audio drama about the darkly humorous experience of an anorexic girl working in McDonalds, and a monologue exploring the bawdy homosexual experiences of an American soldier at war. In the future, she hopes to continue using comedy as a funhouse mirror – reflecting and commenting on our modern world, but warping it in a humorous manner.
