Helen Morley

MA Drama Directing

Biography

Helen is a theatre director and participation producer based between Bristol and Luton.

As a director, she enjoys work that is formally innovative, playful and politically urgent. She has presented work at The Bunker Theatre, VAULTS Festival, Theatre Deli, MAC Birmingham, New Art Exchange and the Edinburgh Fringe. Notable credits include Ava Wong Davies’ debut play i will still be whole (when you rip me in half) that was programmed as part of Chris Sonnex’s penultimate season at The Bunker Theatre. “Beautiful, brutally honest
a startling openness and vulnerability that draws in the audience.”- The Stage

Helen was previously Creative Arts Programme Lead at Prime Theatre. She has extensive experience designing and delivering participatory and co-created art programmes for children and young adults at risk, working with partners including The British Museum, English Heritage and Children in Need.

One of my favourite parts about BOVTS is that it feels ‘homegrown’. From the set to the costume, lighting, acting and sound, every single aspect of a theatre production or film is down to the students. The location of Clifton is so serene and the School being so small everyone knows each other and it feels so personal and special. Violet Morris, BA Professional Acting Student
