BA Production Arts (Stage & Screen) Student


Biography

Jacob has dedicated his final year at BOVTS to specialising in camera and lighting for TV and film, as well as lighting for theatre and live events. He has recently applied his skills across a range of personal and professional media projects including a virtual production shoot at a local Bristol studio. In addition, Jacob has expanded his knowledge of lighting design and electronics during his placement as Stage LX at The Churchill Theatre, and his touring role as Designer and Production LX for the international tour of Holes.

He is now working towards obtaining an IPAF and electrical qualification to further his career in lighting for film and theatre.

Film credits include: Camera Asst and Focus Puller – Say You’re Sorry (BOVTV), Gaffer – Palindrome (BOVTV), Camera and Lighting Asst – Stocks & Traders VP Advert (Distortion Studios), Camera Op – Tea and Ratatouille (Blue Room Productions)

It was always stressed that the contacts you make during your training are incredibly important, and your classmates are likely to end up being on set alongside you in the future. After working with a director of photography on one of the School’s short films, I was invited to work on a project with him outside of Bristol - proving that the professionals we meet via the School, may one day give us a call to action!
