Miranda Cattermole

MA Performance Design Student

Biography

Miranda is a performance designer based in Bristol. She enjoys creating work that foregrounds the body and its relationship with space; and during her time at BOVTS has designed for both theatre and dance.

Her use of artistic processes such as painting, drawing, collage and printmaking are an important part of her concept development and outcomes. She is interested in exploring how the qualities of these media translate into stage environments.

Before studying at BOVTS, Miranda trained in Fine Art & Art History at Goldsmiths (BA Hons, First Class), where she specialised in filmmaking. She has also worked as a stage technician in venues across London including Sadler’s Wells, Almeida Theatre, Kiln Theatre, and Orange Tree Theatre.

Design credits include:

Graduate Sahir Mehta
As soon as I visited the School, I fell in love with the place. Perhaps it sounds a bit irrational, but sometimes you get a vibe - and you just know! BOVTS gave me all the tools I needed to prepare for a career as an actor. Sahir Mehta, MA Professional Acting, 2018
