BA Production Arts (Stage & Screen) Student


Biography

Shellie has dedicated her final year at BOVTS to specialising in sound design for live events & theatre as well as stage management for theatre. Throughout her time at BOVTS she has worked externally on multiple musicals as part of the sound departments. In addition, Shellie has expanded her knowledge of sound for live events during her placement as part of the sound team for a concert at Guildhall, Chard where she took part in setting up sound systems and live mixing for a variety of acts.

Theatre credits at BOVTS include: Sound Designer – The Welkin (Weston Studio, Bristol Old Vic), Asst Sound Designer/Sound op – The Watsons (The Station), Sound Op – Into The Woods (Westlands, Yeovil), Sound Op – Anything Goes (Octagon theatre, Yeovil), Asst Stage Manager – Wasted/Dorian (The Wardrobe Theatre), Deputy Stage Manager – The New Writer’s Festival 2023 (Weston Studio, Bristol Old Vic).

It was always stressed that the contacts you make during your training are incredibly important, and your classmates are likely to end up being on set alongside you in the future. After working with a director of photography on one of the School’s short films, I was invited to work on a project with him outside of Bristol - proving that the professionals we meet via the School, may one day give us a call to action!
