Tara Quinn

MA Drama Writing Student

Biography

Tara is a writer from East Anglia whose work explores identity, relationships, and the human experience in an evocative and lyrical fashion. She graduated with a first class degree in Film and Television from the University of Lincoln. Here, she specialised in screenwriting and explored the mediums of short film and television drama, whilst also beginning to write for theatre and audio.

After graduating she began working as a television researcher and entertainment editor. Tara enjoys working on short stories that delve into everything from folklore and mythology, to forgotten history and imagined futures. She hopes to translate many of these pieces and ideas to stage and screen following her graduation from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, whilst also exploring the realms of adaptation and writing for musical theatre.

It was always stressed that the contacts you make during your training are incredibly important, and your classmates are likely to end up being on set alongside you in the future. After working with a director of photography on one of the School’s short films, I was invited to work on a project with him outside of Bristol - proving that the professionals we meet via the School, may one day give us a call to action!
