Biography

Julie is a director and facilitator who is passionate about telling human stories in an authentic and honest way. Her collaborative approach creates a sense of unity for cast and creatives, resulting in a culture of trust and belonging that allows for inquisitive exploration, underpinned with joy and humour.

Directing credits include This Is Living at Bristol Old Vic, The Seagull, The Dresser, and Present Laughter at The Place Theatre in Bedford, and Assistant Director of The Merry Wives of Windsor and The Comedy of Errors at The Station in Bristol.

It was always stressed that the contacts you make during your training are incredibly important, and your classmates are likely to end up being on set alongside you in the future. After working with a director of photography on one of the School’s short films, I was invited to work on a project with him outside of Bristol - proving that the professionals we meet via the School, may one day give us a call to action!
